+ What Are My Qualifications and Experience?

I have a Masters of Science Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Bachelor Degree of Applied Science in Food Technology.

I am an Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Nutritionist with the Dietitians Association of Australia and a qualified Food Technologist or Food Scientist. My experience working in the food industry spans over 20 years with more than 15 of those as a dietitian and nutritionist. + What is the Difference Between a Dietitian and a Nutritionist?

A Nutritionist is a tertiary qualified nutrition professional that has the expertise to provide a range of evidence-based services related to nutrition, public health nutrition, legislation, research, and community health.

Dieticians are also qualified to make clinical decisions for medical conditions based upon scientific evidence, combined with clinical experience and client expectations.

Dieticians also have the expertise to provide individual dietary counselling, medical nutrition therapy, group dietary therapy and food service management. A dietitian has undertaken a course of study that includes substantial theory and supervised and assessed professional practice in clinical nutrition, medical nutrition therapy and food service management.

+ What to Expect When You See Me?

We discuss why you have come to see me. I listen to what you would like to achieve and support you on your health and nutrition journey. My approach is to tailor nutrition and lifestyle goals for you. We work together to educate and empower you to understand your body and make healthy choices for your lifestyle, any medical condition or food preferences you have, so that you can meet your short- or long-term goals.

I help you decide which foods are right for you, can help you shop, give you meal ideas and recipes, to achieve your goals and develop a healthy relationship with food.

Very often clients come to me after they have seen another practitioner and not had results they had expected. Contact me to see how we can work together.

+ Do I Get a Meal Plan with My Consultation?

If you are after a meal plan, this can be one approach we use, depending on your circumstances and health goals. Everyone is different, there is no one size fits all approach in my method of consulting. My approach is to tailor nutrition and lifestyle goals for you and to educate and empower you to understand your body and make healthy choices for your lifestyle, any medical condition or food preferences you have.

Meal plans are not long-term solutions, I provide you with the knowledge and skills to make food and lifestyle choices based on any scenario and environment you find yourself in, whether it be work, social engagements, holidays or family meal times/get togethers.

+ How Many Consultations Do I Require?

The number of consultations you require will vary depending on your individual circumstances. We can discuss this and determine what optimal timeframe will suit you to meet your goals. On average the follow up consultation is two weeks after the initial consultation. This time period is generally optimal to ensure you have adequate support if for any questions you have or challenges you encounter.

You may like to book a few appointments in advance. Some clients find this helps them motivated and on track, and ensures they reserve a time that suits them.

There are packages available for payment in advance for a discounted rate for long and short term goals. Please refer to the Services section of the website for discounts available for nutrition consultation packages.
